Hello,
I am so excited to kick off our 2026–2027 volleyball season! We finished up a successful GETC camp today, and I am looking forward to getting everyone in the gym for our first week of practice.
First Week of Practice & Tryouts
Practice will begin Monday, August 17th. In accordance with OSAA guidelines, our schedule for the first week will be:
Monday, August 17th
Tuesday, August 18th
Wednesday, August 19th
Thursday, August 20th
Friday, August 21st
Following the first week, regular practices will take place from 4:00–6:00 p.m. except on game days, when schedules will vary by team. Current game schedules are available on the OSAA website.
What to Bring
Athletes should come prepared with appropriate athletic clothing, gym shoes, knee pads, a water bottle, and any other personal equipment they may need. Phones should be put away for the duration of practice to help us stay focused and avoid unnecessary distractions.
Athletes are expected to attend all scheduled practices and mandatory weight sessions unless an absence has been communicated with the coaching staff ahead of time.
Team Placement
All athletes will be evaluated for team placement throughout the first week, with team selections completed by the end of the week. Once teams are selected, coaches will provide athletes and families with additional information regarding team-specific schedules, expectations, and other details.
Optional Open Gyms
Next week, we will also have optional open gym and weight room opportunities. These sessions are not required for tryouts or team selection, but athletes are welcome and encouraged to attend as an opportunity to get in the gym and prepare for the season.

Preparing for Tryouts
Tryouts will be both a fun and challenging week for our athletes. Leading up to and throughout the week, please make sure athletes are taking care of themselves by staying hydrated, eating well, and getting plenty of sleep. Taking care of their bodies will help them feel their best and put their best foot forward during tryouts.
I have also attached a document with bodyweight exercises and stretching options. I encourage athletes to incorporate some of these into their routine leading up to tryouts. They can help prepare athletes for the physical demands of the week and potentially reduce some of the soreness that comes with returning to regular practices.
I am very excited to get the season started and begin working with everyone! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Thank you,
Coach Aydt
